Learn to drive in Haywards Heath
Automatic Driving School Burgess Hill teaches one-to-one automatic driving lessons for learners in Haywards Heath. We are an automatic-only driving school, so every lesson is taught in an automatic car.
Haywards Heath is a town in Mid Sussex, West Sussex, with a population of about 33,800 at the 2011 census. It lies to the north-east of Burgess Hill, and the A273, B2036 and B2112 link the two towns. A bypass on the south side of the town, the A272, opened in August 2014, and the A23 passes close by. Haywards Heath station has Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express services.
Our lessons suit complete beginners, new drivers, adult learners and nervous drivers. If you have already passed, we also offer refresher lessons and Pass Plus.
See our automatic driving lessons in Hassocks, Keymer and Clayton and Hurstpierpoint, or return to our Burgess Hill home page.
The kind of driving you will practise
The roads you meet depend on where your lessons start and how far you have progressed. This is a general guide to the types of driving learners practise. It does not describe particular roads we use, or any driving test route.
Most learners begin on quieter residential roads, where you can get used to the controls of an automatic car, steering, moving off, stopping and observation before busier traffic.
As your confidence grows, lessons move on to roundabouts and traffic-light-controlled junctions, with a focus on observation, lane positioning and judging gaps in traffic.
A town of this size gives you the chance to build experience of busier traffic, parked cars, pedestrians and changing road layouts, always at a pace that suits you. Rural roads begin soon after the town ends.
We practise parking, turning in the road and reversing, and independent driving such as following road signs or directions, as you work towards test standard.
