Automatic Driving School Burgess Hill teaches one-to-one automatic driving lessons for learners in Hassocks, Keymer and Clayton. We are an automatic-only driving school, so every lesson is taught in an automatic car.

Hassocks is a village and civil parish in Mid Sussex, West Sussex, a short drive south of Burgess Hill. Keymer lies just to the east of Hassocks on the B2116, about 2.4 miles south of Burgess Hill. Clayton is a small village at the foot of the South Downs. Hassocks, Keymer and Clayton have shared a single civil parish since 2000, and Hassocks station has Southern and Thameslink services.

Our lessons suit complete beginners, new drivers, adult learners and nervous drivers. If you have already passed, we also offer refresher lessons and Pass Plus.

Keymer is known for its parish church and for Oldland Mill, an 18th-century post mill, while Clayton is known for the windmills called Jack and Jill on the hill above the village.

Most learners begin on quiet roads, where you can get used to the controls of an automatic car, steering, moving off, stopping and observation before busier traffic.

As your confidence grows, lessons move on to junctions, roundabouts and traffic-light-controlled crossings, with a focus on observation, positioning and judging gaps in traffic.

Village and country roads

Driving in and around villages usually means a mix of village streets and rural roads. We help you with road positioning, passing parked cars, meeting oncoming traffic and choosing a safe speed.

Parking, manoeuvres and independent driving

We practise parking, turning in the road and reversing, and independent driving such as following road signs or directions, as you work towards test standard.
